A Specialized Approach to Couples Therapy in Minnesota

Lately it feels harder to reach each other. The conversations have shrunk to logistics, and the ones that aren't logistics turn into a fight that was never really about the dishes. Some nights you look at the person you chose and feel like strangers running shifts.

Maybe there's a baby coming or one who's already here, maybe you're planning a wedding, or maybe you've just been stuck in the same argument for longer than you can remember. None of it means your relationship is broken, and it doesn't mean you're doing it wrong. It's one of the most common things that happens to couples in these stretches, and almost no one says it out loud.

Evon Inyang, MA, LAMFT

Hi, I’m Evon Inyang, MA, LAMFT

I’m a board-licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in Minnesota, and I work only with couples. Hundreds of them, through postpartum and the conflict that keeps coming back no matter what you try. I'm trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method, the two most-researched approaches to couples work, with advanced training in postpartum mental health.

Whatever you bring in here is not too ugly to say. I've heard it and I don't take sides.

Here's what changes. You stop having the same fight. You start hearing what your partner actually needs instead of the complaint on the surface. You learn to fix things when they go wrong instead of letting them pile up.

Most couples feel something shift in the first few sessions. You start to see the pattern you've been caught in and once you can see it, it stops running the show.

I'm direct. I don't wait for the conversation to finish. I catch the pattern in the moment, which is where the change happens, not someday. It's the core of my own approach, the Re|Pair™ Framework.

Couples find me after therapy that didn't work, months of talking with nothing changing.

If you're worried you've waited too long, you almost certainly haven't.

The difference in our relationship from when we first started to where we are now is truly night and day."

  • "My biggest concern was not wanting to feel like I was being ganged up on. That didn't happen. She doesn't take sides, and she doesn't let you just vent at each other either. She's direct, but it never feels like blame."
